Irene Harrison, 82, passed away peacefully September 24, 2017 at Ajax Pickering Hospital in Ajax Ontario after a lengthy illness.

A memorial service will be held on Friday September 29 at The Simple Alternative in Pickering Ontario.

She was born February 17, 1935, in Eden Manitoba to John and Annie Check.

Irene grew up on a farm in rural Manitoba and set off to make her own way in the world. She met Wayne Harrison in St. Catharines Ontario, and they married on October 6 1962.

Her interests included family, gardening, and reading. She was a five-time survivor of cancer.

Irene was predeceased by her daughter Kathy, and is survived by her husband Wayne, her sister, Mary Asham; her brother, Ed Check, her son David and his spouse Lana, and four grandchildren Bryan, Laura, Eric, and Alison.
