In memory of

Ilse Markwardt

October 18, 1928 -  September 2, 2018

ILSE MARKWARDT (née Schrögel)

Passed away suddenly, but peacefully in her sleep at Craiglee Nursing Home, on Sunday, September 2, 2018.

Predeceased by her husband Harry. Ilse will be greatly missed by her daughter Michele, son-in-law Rod Field, grandchildren Chris (wife Lily) and Lexie (husband Evan Eglinton) and great-grandson Emmett.

Ilse and Harry emigrated from West Germany in the early fifties to explore the new and promising land of Canada and settled in Scarborough.

Harry preceded their trip to the new country where he soon found work as a Master Engraver. Ilse and young Michele joined Harry soon after.

In the early years, Ilse was a devoted Mom to Michele and later worked at Scarborough General Hospital as a housekeeping supervisor. She lived a wonderful long life of warm memories and happy times with family and friends. She was a loving Omi to Chris and Lexie. Our Omi will be truly missed.

Many, many thanks to all the staff at Craiglee. You all made her feel welcome and she enjoyed her short stay with you.

Relatives and friends may attend the funeral on Friday, September 7, 2018. Visitation is at 10 a.m. and the funeral service begins at 11 am.
