I had the pleasure of working with Iain when I was a Fire Inspector and he was my Captain in the fire prevention office at the historic Scarborough Fire Hall #1 at 351 Birchmount Rd. He was a really a great guy and dedicated family man who loved his family dearly. He had a long storied career with the old Scarborough Fire Department and the amalgamated Toronto Fire Services. I was glad to be a small part of that journey. He was fun to work with and to work for. He always brought a smile to our faces, especially in the summer when he would show up with an ice cream cake, just because! He will be sorely missed by me and many of the other other people he worked with throughout his long career.

I had the privilege of having Iain as my Captain for many years. He was the kindest man with the biggest heart. We would annoy him to no end somedays, but he would always have a smile on his face. I hope he is at peace and playing the drums loudly. He will be greatly missed.

We had a lot of laughs and enjoyed camaraderie playing hockey and baseball. We became great friends and had a lot of fun times going out to dinners and playing cards.
A lot of great memories will be with us forever.

Iain’s presence around events hosted by the PWMHL, like the yearly golf tournaments and Friday night hockey will be sadly missed. His dedication and love of his family and serving in the fire service was an example for all to follow. I will miss our talks on fire service history and comparing our two departments. I pray that God’s peace and love will surround Michele and family during this difficult time.
