It is with great sorrow and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hugo Lara Alvarado at Peterborough Regional Health Centre in Peterborough, Ontario.

He has been called to Heaven and is now resting peacefully in God’s care. He will forever be held dearly and lives on in hearts of his family and friends. He was the loving father of Isabelle Say-Lara, loving brother of Johanna Lara (Luis Garcia), Walter Lara, Freddy Lara (Johanna Bergfelt), and late sister Luz Lara. Beloved son of Teresa Lara and Juan Lara, and dear uncle of Jonnathan Loor Lara, Alex Garcia Lara, Brandon Garcia Lara, Alondra Lara, Jose Lara, Antonio Lara, Felix Lara, Max Lara, Christopher Lara and Andres Ramirez. He was affectionately known as Punkera, Punkii. He had a passion for cooking for his family, especially for his niece and nephews. Hugo was a fisherman at heart. He started fishing from a young age and he shared his passion for fishing and love of nature with his loved ones. Every so often he enjoyed a swim in the lake.
