It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved father, How Sim Yong, who peacefully left this world on July 9, 2025, surrounded by family and love.

How Sim Yong was born on December 14, 1952 in Poon Yue, Guangzhou, Canton to Yong Ge Hong and So Fung Lan. He was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather and dedicated his whole life to his family. From humble beginnings, he carried within him the legacy of a deep respect for tradition, a tireless work ethic, and an unshakable belief in the value of family and education.

He emigrated to Canada in search of a better future for his children, sacrificing much to offer more. He was always working, his heart always open, and his words were filled with meaning. He was a quiet protector, a guiding light, and the steady presence who taught us the most important lessons: to be kind, to be strong, to be humble, and to always take care of one another.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amy; his children Tammy and Judy; and his grandchildren Jennifer, Jessica, Julia, Caden, Carter, and Carson. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories we cherish, and the love that will never fade.

A visitation and funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 starting at 9:00am at the Elgin Mills Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centres. The additional funeral details can be found below.
