In memory of

Hollis Judson Thompson

June 30, 1928 -  January 31, 2018

Hollis Thompson, passed away peacefully at Toronto general hospital on January 31st, 2018. Tom was born in Dunstaffnage, Prince Edward Island, the youngest of eleven remarkable children. He was in the RCAF from 1949-1970 and is a veteran of the Korean war. Until his retirement in 1985 tom thrived in the real estate industry in Belleville and Toronto. Tom was a voracious reader and had a keen interest in history and politics. He was passionate to know more about the world in which he lived and enjoyed many rich travel experiences in his life. His love for adventure and travel led him to volunteer for habitat for humanity working with project teams in central and South America. As well, in his eightieth year, he designed and built a house on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. His happiest times were spent at Linda and Tom's Sandbanks Cottage with family and friends. Tom will always be remembered for his loving ways, his kindness, his calmness and his positive outlook on life. If patience is indeed the companion of wisdom, Dad/Poppa/Tom was indeed a very wise man. He will be terribly missed by his most loved and adored wife Linda, his children Linda, Deb (Ian), Don (Lisa), Janice (Tom), his step children, Scott, Sandra and Sam, his seven grandchildren and his five great grandchildren. Tom had a wide circle of dear friends and extended family who will miss him greatly. Cremation and a private family service has taken place.
The celebration of life for this gentle and most beloved man will take place on April 7, 2018 from 1-2 pm at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, (375 Mount Pleasant Road Toronto Ontario.) Reception to follow from 2pm-4pm.
In Tom’s memory a donation to habitat for humanity would be appreciated.

Tom to me was like family, he's been in our lives for as long as I can remember. Over the years we've shared many great times, celebrations and holidays together. He was a kind, generous, funny and warm person who always had a warm hug at the ready when he greeted you.
We will miss him tremendously and think of him often. We will raise a glass to you in celebration of your life... Cheers to you Tom xo

I have known Tom since a young age. Tom and Linda are like my second parents in some way, as such Tom will be missed. Tom welcomed everyone with his bright smile, he loved to laugh and have fun. I will remember Tom for the memories I have of our childhood days spent at Tom and Linda's cottage. The time we met in Paris, Christmas dinners, thanksgiving dinners, and dinners just for fun. Tom was with us on our wedding day to celebrate with us.
Our thoughts are with Linda, and the rest of Tom and Linda's family as they put on a brave face to say good bye to a great man.
Love Olivia, Wayne, Stella and Molly Thomas

Over the forty or so years of friendship with Deb and Linda, Ellen and I enjoyed Tom's hospitality and kindness on a number of occasions. Always informed on the latest "goings on" Tom was a gracious host and keen listener. Our condolences to Tom's wife, Linda, and her family and to the extended Thompson clan.
