Helene Theresa Wabin –1929 –2024
With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of Helene Theresa Wabin in her 95th year. Helene passed away peacefully in the early hours of Monday, May 20, 2024, at Scarborough General Hospital.
Beloved wife of Erich (2013). Helene will be forever remembered and loved by her daughters, Doris Doidge (Edward) and Diana Bradey (Earl). Dear Oma to Danielle Barrett (Mike) and Michael Bradey (Jessica), and Omi to Katrina, Nathan, Noah and Olivia. Helen is survived by her sister, Elisabeth Strehl.
Helene was a longtime volunteer at the Broadlands Community Centre and a long-standing Vice President of the Broadlands Older Adults Association. She was the retired owner of Alpine Bakery.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Nurses, PSW’s and Physicians of the 6th Floor Palliative Care Unit at Scarborough General Hospital for their care, support and assistance in the care of Helene during her final days.
Services will be held at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto, on Saturday, June 1st. Visitation at 1:00 p.m. Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Sunnybrook Hospital or Scarborough Health Network.
