In memory of

Helene Shewchuk

April 3, 1931 -  January 26, 2023

The family of Helene Simone Shewchuk, 91, are deeply saddened to announce her passing on January 26, 2023. Beloved wife of Joseph Shewchuk for 67 years. Dear mother of Jeffrey, mother in-law to Janice and devoted grandmother to Naomi (Patrick) and Lyndsay. And friend to all.
Heli was a strong and independent person who overcame difficult life challenges while growing up during turbulent times in Europe, establishing a new life for herself in Canada, a country she truly adored. She loved her family and had an athletic love for the outdoors beyond the imagination. She will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral Service to be held at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, Ontario, on Thursday February 9th with visitation beginning at 1pm and service at 2pm with reception to follow.

Helene was a wonderful person and a very loving aunt to myself, my daughter Nicole and my Husband Joe.
We have many fond memories of time spent in Halliburton, Scarborough and in Largo. What a vibrant life she had. Heli was an amazing woman and will be very much missed.

A never ending smile and love for us all is how I remember Heli as a youngster. As we grew older she never changed and the smiles were even bigger. At the cottage Heli was always ready for a game of croquet, mahjong or contract. She will be missed. Passing by the Canning Lake dock will never be the same.

Deepest sympathies and condolences to “Uncle” Joe, Jeff, Janice and family.

My sincerest condolences to your family. I first met Helene at the RBC Data Centre at 180 Wellington West. Those were the "good old days". I was fortunate to meet up with her in very recent years when I visited with Helga Gausrab. May she rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to all who loved her.
I remember Helene from working with her at Royal Bank Processing Centre, 25 Front street for many years. I was always struck by her vitality and boundless enthusiasm.
Her big smile could light up a room. May she rest in peace and may her family be comforted in the knowledge that she was well liked by those whose lives
she touched.
Ursula
