Our hearts go out to Al, Dace and Bob, Zig and James and family. Helen was always welcoming and role model to me as I began to hold my own family dinners and celebrations. She was one of the best cooks and hostesses that I ever knew and there was always room at her holiday table for family friends.
Helen personified maternal love and her devotion to her daughters was unwavering. Her passing will leave a big empty space for Al and family and our love and prayers go out to them at this sad time and in the days ahead.

She was a lovely person and we'll miss her. We'll miss her spunk and her humour. She and Al made our move from Chicago to Toronto joyful and happy. She and Al treated us like family and we will never, ever forget that. RIP Helen.

We knew Helen for many years and she always had a great sense of humor. She made the best gingerbread cookies and we always looked forward to them.
Although Helen was losing her memory, she still knew our names when we went to tea at the retirement home once or twice a week .
We will miss her laugh .
