Helen Rundle

July 20, 1927 -  February 26, 2018

Born in Oshawa, the only child of Jack and Vi Petre, Helen is survived by husband Rae, children Dean (Sandra), Scott (Denise), Gregg (Jackie), Leigh (David Garvey), grandchildren Kristin, Christopher, Michael, Katie, David, Jarrett and 4 great grandchildren – Jadyn, Kyle, Jacob and Elena. Helen got her grade 13 certificate and worked for 5 years at the Public Utilities Commission in Oshawa and then 18 years as Administrative Assistant at the Canadian Mental Health Association until her retirement after which she remained for 8 years on the board of directors. She will be missed by her many relatives and friends. A special thank you to Sue (RN) and Kim (PSW) from LHIN Group Palliative Care for the kindness and compassion shown to Helen. A memorial visitation will be held at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 2 pm – 4 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm. A celebration of Helen’s life will take place at Faith United Church (1778 Nash Road, Courtice) on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11 am.
