In memory of

Heather Eileen Richardson-Mowat

March 11, 1946 -  August 29, 2020

RICHARDSON-MOWAT, Heather Eileen

With incredible sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandma. Her memory will be forever cherished by the love of her life Malcolm, and children Michelle Kelly (Chris), Deborah Laird (Doug), Pamela Hall (Andy), Tammy Mitchell (Rev), Lonni Meisner (Steve) and the late Fred Mowat.

She will be dearly missed by her “earthly angels”, grandchildren Cole, Kaitlyn, Sean, Jessica, Danielle, Ryan, Jackie, Heidi, Katara, Dustin, Davi, Jenay and Alex. Much loved Great Gramma Heather to Davies, Zach, Keegan, Jack, Elliott, Courtenay, Carson, Parker and the late Makai. Cherished lifelong friend of Marianne Rosier.

Predeceased by parents Eileen (nee Finnegan) and Alexander Mowat, sisters Beverley, Mamie, Patsy, Gail, Grace and brothers Donnie, Terrance and Byron. Survived by sister Muriel. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, along with her coffee ladies, bowling league and former colleagues of the Peel District School Board.

Mom and dad enjoyed exploring and shared many road trip adventures across North America; they were fortunate to have travelled to Hawaii and many countries in Europe in recent years. It will be a joyous day when they can be “on the road again” together.

Mom was a very special woman; she treated everyone she met with dignity and respect, no matter their “station” in life. It was important to her to learn people’s names and get to know them; she made many friends with staff in coffee shops, restaurants and even drive-thrus! Mom never missed an opportunity to express care and concern to everyone; she truly was “Mother” to many.

Special thanks to the in-home nursing team from Care Partners, and heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff and volunteers at Ian Anderson House; their kind and compassionate care for mom during her final days ensured she was comfortable, happy and at peace.

There will be a private family visitation at 2:00pm on Tuesday September 1st, followed by a public graveside service at 2:30pm. Meadowvale Cemetery, 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton (905-451-3716). In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to Ian Anderson House.

To Malcom and Lonni. I am remembering Heathers words. She wanted longer with you. The love of her life and her beautiful daughter and family. She was Thankful for all of her family. Felt blessed to have all of her life's experiences both ups and downs. She accepted that God was calling her and we prayed that she was going to be with her boy Fred and Mom and Sisters. Such a giving, understanding and ever faithful friend. We shared everything in life and Heather was always able to lift my spirits when I needed it. I will forever continue to talk to her and find comfort in knowing she will be watching down on us and one day we will be together again. Xo.

I am truly heartbroken for you. Your Mom was an amazing lady. This is evident in you; my dear friend. Lonnie, I cannot offer any words of comfort as now there aren't any in your grief. If and when you want an ear, a friend to cry with or someone to scream at, I will be available day or night. I love you to the moon and back.
