Hassan Malakooti

December 15, 1919 -  December 6, 2018

Surrounded by family, Hassan passed away peacefully and gently at Mount Sinai Hospital, December 6, 2018. Father, Grandfather, Great Grand Father, Brother, Uncle, Friend, Colleague, Surgeon, and Mentor. Hassan is survived by, and lives on in, his children, Homa, Homayoon and Hamid; his precious grandchildren, Amir, Melody, Tiffany, Niloofar, Neema, Sam, Cyrus and Ava; his great-grandchildren Ryan, Ethan and Luke and their extended families. Hassan will be remembered for his eternal optimism, effervescent character, integrity, big heart, and generosity. A celebration of Hassan's life will be hosted by the family at Mount Pleasant Cemetry, Funeral Center 375 Mount Pleasant Road on Saturday, December 15th from 10:30 to 2 p.m.

My dear Homa my deepest sympathy to you and all the family on the death of your dear and wonderful father may he Rest In Peace
I think back when you lived beside me in Dublin Dodar loved to come on his holidays to you and would visit me often laden with wonderful exotic goodies Namely cashew nuts caviar etc a very generous man
Do you remember the lunch I had with Bob his step mother my
Mother and Dodar where my mother serenaded your Dad with beautiful songs he wAs so happy I have such lovely memories of your father and I was privileged to have known him and I know your loss is great and hopefully the wonderful memories and times you had will ease the pain

He loved parties! A few years back he complained that we are not having enough of them, and life is boring without them.

One early morning in a late summer day in 1962, dad woke me up and said let's go. When I walked out, I saw an ambulance filled with medical supplies standing in front of the door. We drove to the earthquake flatten Buin Zahra. He was one of the first doctors on the site. Once he ran out of plaster bandages, he made me responsible for finding plaster and making plaster bandages from normal bandages. He worked non-stop until late that night when major relief teams had arrived with proper logistics.
