In memory of

Gwendolyn Elizabeth Altpeter

March 6, 1945 -  May 21, 2018

ALTPETER, Gwendolyn Rosemary

Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on May 21,2018, at the age of 73. Loving mother of Rick, Steven(Kerri) and Anne(Glenn). Adored Gramma of James, Kalvin, Briannah, Olivia, “Gramma Gwen” of Jayda and Kalei. Great- grandmother of Brenden and Kian. She will be fondly remembered by her mother in law, 94 year old Annice Altpeter, by brother Ronald Hubble and by ex-husband Kenneth Altpeter. Hopefully Marley can guide Gwen and keep her company. Gwen will be forever remembered as a strong woman who treasured her independence and always put others ahead of herself. She found great serenity in her garden, enjoying nature and spending precious time with her family. Her gentle spirit and dedication to her career – still working at age 73! -will forever remain in the hearts and minds of those she leaves behind. Visitation will be held at THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE(1200 Thornton Road North 905-579-6787) on Saturday May 26 from 9 am until time of Celebration of Life in the Great Hall at 10 am. Interment will follow.

Gwen, you will be missed. Your generosity, love, human compassion and kindness were among a few of the things that will be missed. You are a power of example to me and I will always remember you. I love you Gwen.
