Guillermo Solar Paz was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great friend.

He filled the room with laughter and smiles. He loved to crack jokes just as much as he always wore his favourite pair of sunglasses. He was the friendliest face in the crowd, drawing countless people towards him. He created unforgettable friendships and memories. Guillermo never hesitated to show off his strength and muscles, even until the very end. His time in the Air Force significantly shaped his character; he was disciplined, humble, and committed to something greater than himself.

Guillermo made his home in Peru, a country he served for and loved deeply. The ocean was especially close to his heart.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, honour, and gentle wisdom. Though he has departed from our sight, he will always remain in our hearts; like the ocean he loved, always near, always moving, always remembered. We will never forget how he said “okie dokie” with a smile and move forward, and apply that same enthusiastic energy within us all.
