Gudrun “Gundy” Kistemaker

March 16, 1944 -  November 15, 2017

After a courageous battle, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Bethell Hospice at the age of 73. Survived by her loving husband Leo. Cherished mum to Peter (Dan) Kistemaker and Tanya (Dan) Larsen. Proud Oma of Emily, Braydon and “Mr. Paul”. Dear sister of Greta and Ron. Many thanks to the Oncology Unit at Brampton Civic Hospital as well as Bethell Hospice in Inglewood for their dedicated care. Friends will be received at Meadowvale Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centres 7732 Mavis Rd., Brampton (north of HWY 407 and south of Steeles Ave., 905-451-3716) on Saturday, November 25, 2017 for a Memorial Visitation from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Bethell Hospice or Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family.

Gundy was a life long volunteer whether at work or at play. She served as treasurer for the Ontario Women's Teacher's Federation. Along with a passion for teaching she enjoyed live theater, duplicate bridge and volleyball.
She volunteered at the Rose theater as an usher for over a decade. At Flower City seniors center she formed the duplicate Bridge Club which has grown tremendously and contintues today. It always gave her great pleasure to be involved in the community.
