Gregory Birk Shoom 1962 - 2016

Died peacefully at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre on June 26th, 2016.

Loving son of Sydney and late Ola Shoom, husband to Jelena, step-father of Mia, brother of Daniel (Janet) and Kevin (Chari), brother-in-law of Sasha and Ivana and uncle to Chenai, Farai, Nora, Nikola and Sofia, nephew of Ina and the late Sam Dorfman and cousin of Terry (Michael), Allan (Pam), Marlene (Mike) and Barb.

Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and grew up in Kingston, Ontario. Greg was as a software developer, working and living in Toronto. He was a passionate radio amateur since his youth, leaving behind enormous evidence of the world wide radio contacts he made during his life. He had tireless interests in technology, loved nature and hiking, and had a special love for cats.

Greg’s kindness and warm nature, elegance and grace will be remembered and missed by his family and many friends he made in his life.

A celebration of Greg's life will be held at 2pm, July 1st, 2016 at the Mt Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mt. Pleasant Road. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or the Sinai Health Foundation."
