After courageously fighting a battle with cancer, Grażyna passed away peacefully, at home, with her family by her side. Grażyna Jędrej (Nowak) of Siedlce, Poland, was in her 71st year. She was the beloved wife of Henryk, cherished mother of Thomas and Maggie, a wonderful mother-in-law to Angela and Paulo, and, of course, a loving grandmother to Joseph, Timothy, Olivia, and David. She was predeceased by her parents Wincentyna (Nowak) in 2013 and her lifelong fatherly figure, Władyslaw Targonski, in 2001, as well as her father, Franciszek in 1955.
A devoted wife, mother (in-law), and grandmother, her love for family, especially her grandchildren, was boundless. Grażyna's immigration journey from Poland to Canada (via Turkey and Germany) showcased her unwavering courage, driven by the desire for a better life for her beloved children.
Her indomitable spirit, marked by wit and determination, echoed in every aspect of her life. Grażyna approached challenges with grace, a fitting reflection of her name. She found solace in walks, the peacefulness of nature, and the joy of gardening, creating a haven of tranquility.
Grażyna faced an uncertain cancer diagnosis in 2021 with tremendous grace and optimism. She remained determined to celebrate her 70th birthday and, most recently, her 50th wedding anniversary. Her eyes were set on Henryk's upcoming 75th birthday, a testament to her fearless mindset.
Knowing how much she hated goodbyes, this is not a farewell but a loving dedication to a life well-lived. Despite her physical absence, Grażyna's legacy of laughter, love, and beautiful memories will endure in our hearts, a timeless tribute to a remarkable woman.
May she find eternal peace, knowing that she will live on in our hearts and memories forever. This is not a goodbye!
We would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and auxiliary staff that offered support during her cancer journey. In particular, special thanks to Dr.Winemaker, Dr.Khalaf, Jeanette (NP), St. Joseph’s Home Care Services and the staff at Juravinski Cancer Centre for their tremendous support and compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
