In memory of

Gordon Franklin "Gord" Fournier

February 24, 1956 -  April 8, 2017

On Saturday, April 8, 2017, Gord passed away peacefully during the night, losing his battle with cancer. Gord was only 61 years old. He is survived by Lorraine, his loving wife, friend and partner of more than 37 years and his two greatest life accomplishments, his sons Stephen and Damon. Gord was diagnosed with cancer in August. We were blessed to have these last seven months to truly appreciate the man he was and to share the memories that are so precious to us. He was remarkably strong, pragmatic and the best patient ever. Gord will be remembered for his great laugh, his willingness to lend a hand to any and all who asked and his passion for all things Formula 1 or car related.

Gord will be missed by his brothers- and sisters-in-law (Bill and Lise Barber and Gordon and Kerry Barber) and nieces and nephews and their families too. He is predeceased by his parents Alban and Joyce Fournier and his mother-in-law Deane Barber.

He will be missed by his many old friends from his days in Montreal and his newer friends from his years in Oakville as a stay at home dad and his more recent venture into the work world at Habitat for Humanity's Restore in Burlington.

Many thanks to the CCAC team for the support provided to Gord at home and to the palliative team at Credit Valley Hospital.

A celebration of Gord's life will be held on Saturday, April 15th from 2-4 PM.

My prayers and thoughts go out to the family. Sadly, I feel he was too young to leave you but, like my Dad who also lost his battle with cancer at 61, may he RIP! He is now in God's hands too! xo
