In memory of

Glenn Alexander Murray

March 11, 1962 -  May 2, 2021

After a courageous battle, Glenn passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 2, 2021 at the age of 59. Predeceased by his father Morley Watson Murray and his mother Helen Margaret Murray (nee Haig).
He leaves behind his loving wife Dorothy Afra Appelman of 20 years. Cherished brother of Dennis and Craig. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A man who was truly always there to help and support his friends and family, he was always a shoulder to lean on. Glenn brought a calming presence which made everyone’s life better even in times of uncertainty. Glenn was a true gentleman of strong character, he cared for others before himself, and his warm spirit and compassion will be forever missed.

Due to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19, unfortunately we cannot gather together at this time. The visitation and service for Glenn will be private exclusively for family members. You may livestream the service on this page at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 8, 2021, a link to livestream will be available at the top of this page at 1:50 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Michael Garron Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. You can Donate in memory of Glenn by using the 'Make a Donation' button at the bottom of this page.

A very sad day. Glenn will be missed by all his friends and particularly the Tuesday night chicken wing crowd which included brother Craig and friends already gone, Peter and Marvin. This passing is particularly difficult with the isolating nature of the times. RIP dear friend.

Glenn was one of the most kind-spirited, selfless people I have ever known. A true gentleman. He will be deeply missed.

Dorothy, I can't even start to imagine the sadness and heartache you are going through at the loss of Glenn. He truly was a kind hearted sole and did indeed have a calming presence. I always enjoyed our visits and the laughs we had with Pico as well. I will miss him dearly and am sending you, Craig, Dennis and family my deepest condolences, hugs and prayers. Yvonne

Dorothy,
It’s so hard to find the words right now. Please know that I am thinking about you during this very sad time. I will honour Glenn’s memory by thanking him for his kindness, his never ending capability of stopping for a hello, a chat and a laugh. His concern for others was always evident in his conversation, his soothing tone and compassion. We will all miss Glenn’s presence here on the street. Sending comforting hugs.

We are saddened to hear of the loss of Glenn and our extreme sympathies are extended to his wife and loving partner Dorothy and his extended family. Glenn was an individual who led with his heart first and his values were always key and core. He fought hard against that which was not right, gave his heart to all who needed a friendly need and support and was respected by everyone who worked with him. Glenn will be missed and our heart breaks for all of you. Glenn epitomized all that was good in a person and we are honoured to have shared a pathway with him. Carry him gently he was well loved.
