Gizella Timoranszky
March 29, 1921 - March 29, 2015
Gizella Timoranszky 94 passed away on March 29th 2015 at home in Toronto, Ontario. She was born on March 29, 1921 in Zalaber, Hungary to Janos and Franciska Szabo.
Gizella grew up in Zalaber, Hungary.
Gizella married Mihaly Timoranszky in 1943 in Budapest, Hunagry. They were happily married for 37 years. Gizella emigrated to Toronto with her Husband and Children in 1959, after spending 20 months in a Red Cross Camp for Refugees following the Hungarian Revolution. Gizella helped build a successful business with her husband, Mihaly. She loved her life in Canada, and was a wonderful role model for children and a generous and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend. Gizella was an avid gardener and her gardens were always her pride and joy and a show place in the neighbourhood. She had a terrific moral and work ethic, and her kindness and love was appreciated by all who knew her.
Gizella is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Johnston(Douglas) and her son Mihaly of Toronto, Ontario; Her grandchildren Kristofer (Jennifer Ash), Victoria (Christopher Aagaard), Kathryn, Dora, Kristina and Michael; her great-grandchildren Kaitlin, Claire and Giselle; and her niece Theressa and nephew Joseph and other relatives.
Gizella was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 375 Mt. Pleasant Rd, Toronto, Ontario at 10 am April 4 2015. A visitation will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Visitation Center, 375 Mt. Pleasant Rd at 9 am April 4th. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at the Visitation Center 12 noon, April 4th. Burial will follow the funeral at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
