In memory of

Giuseppina Gucciardi

June 24, 1926 -  June 9, 2025

Peacefully, with family at her side, Giuseppina Gucciardi entered into eternal rest on June 9, 2025 in Kleinburg, Ontario, at the age of 98. Born June 24, 1926 in Vita, Sicily, Italy, Giuseppina married the love of her life, the late Vincenzo Gucciardi (1920 – 1998) in 1948. Vincenzo immigrated to Canada in the early 1950s, and Giuseppina followed shortly thereafter, together forging a life defined by faith, hospitality, and hard work.
Giuseppina is survived by her children Dina (Vince), Ciro (Heather), and Josey (Roy), and was predeceased by her daughter Vita (Pietro). She was the proud Nonna of eleven grandchildren—Aldo (Meghan), Daniel (Jennifer), Justin (Aaron), Tianna (James), Robert (Caitlyn), Victoria (Dan), Christopher (Angelique), Krysten (Carter), Breannen (Adrian), Kaitlyn, and Matthew (Julia)—and adoring Bisnonna to Penelope, Mathias, Elio, Luca, and Leo. Predeceased by her siblings Baldassare, Vita, and Maria, Giuseppina will be deeply missed by her extended family and many friends. Her life was grounded in service and resilience. While supporting Vincenzo’s business, she sewed clothes for her growing family, harvested meals from her garden, and spent countless hours serving and preserving its bounty. She nursed her husband through illness with unwavering devotion, then embraced newfound independence—learning to drive, taking up bowling, travelling, and sharing laughter with dear companions. A devout Catholic, she walked to daily Mass until Alzheimer’s made the journey impossible.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff of Villa Colombo Vaughan di Poce for their loving care in her final years. In lieu of flowers, please celebrate Giuseppina’s generosity with a donation to the charity of your choice.

“Her hands fed generations; her faith and love sustain us still.”

It is with sincere condolences, that I wish peace of mind to the Gucciardi Family. I vaguely remember your Mother, in the downstairs kitchen, when it was hot out, making lunches or dinners. Or sewing in the upstairs Livingroom. She was always nice to me. The back garden was always so full of vegetables and flowers. What a green thumb your Parents had❣️
May your Beautiful Mother rest in peace with the Ones that went before🥰

Deepest condolences to the whole family from the Carpenko family. I had the privilege to sit at the table at your home and always enjoyed the loving acceptance and plentiful portions. Definitely an lasting impression of caring and love that still resonates. The passing of a great mother to all who had the privilege to have been fortunate to have been invited into the family.
