It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I am writing this post to honour the life and memory of Giuseppe Ragolia, who passed away at the ripe age of 96, today; June 16, 2016. A brother to one sister (the late Zia Anna), A husband to his late wife Francesca (who are reunited now), A Papa to two sons, a Nonno to five grandchildren, a Bis-Nonno to eight great grandchildren, and a friend and close relative to countless others, He was loved and respected by practically everyone who ever met him. His unwavering joy, happiness, spirit, enthusiasm, love, energy, positivity, and kindness was blatantly apparent and unmatched by anyone I have ever known. He lived an incredible life just the way he wanted to live it. His legacy will forever live on within everyone who was touched by him. His words to live by: "Piano Piano, va lontano, e arrivare sanoa" = "Slow and steady wins the race".
We love you now and forever Nonno! You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. I was luckily enough to share your name and will honour it for the rest of my life.
