In memory of

Giovanni Paglialunga

February 1, 1936 -  June 16, 2021

It is with great sadness that we are announcing the passing of Giovanni Paglialunga. In his 85th year, on June 16, 2021, Giovanni passed away peaceful at home with his family by his side. He is reunited with his beloved wife Rosa Paglialunga.

Giovanni leaves behind his loving children, Tony (Sara) and Maria Turco (Joe) as well as his precious grandchildren Melissa, Jonathan, Michael, Daniel, and Luca, who will always cherish the special memories of his generosity and his unconditional love.

The endless hockey, soccer games you would not dare to miss! Being called in the early mornings because they would miss the bus for school and nonno would drive them. Always with a smile and never a complaint. He would be upset if they did not call him. He was the most sweetest nonno that would do absolutely anything for his grandchildren. Loved giving them money at the rink to of course support their candy habit. Bringing them for ice cream after a soccer game. Dad, we will hold on to these memories forever and ever and we will never forget what you did for us.

As a Father, you were always so supportive of any decisions we made. You always said we know better and to pursue what we wanted. You were the best dad anyone could ask for and we were blessed to be raised by a man of faith, integrity and trust.

Giovanni’s commitment to his faith inspired those around him. His extended family and friends will dearly miss his kindness, wisdom, and humility.

Due to COVID-19, the visitation and funeral service are limited to the family only. Instead of attending, the family asks that friends and family join the livestream of Giovanni’s funeral service with details below.

The family would like to thank everyone, especially the doctors and nurses who provided care and comfort to Giovanni in his final months.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to The Canadian Cancer Society or most importantly to Radio Maria with a man of Faith donations here would be greatly appreciated. He would listen to this all day, everyday until his last moments on earth with us. He believes everyone should be listening to Radio Maria.
