In memory of

Gianni Cacciacarro

April 29, 1970 -  October 27, 2022

On October 27, 2022, Gianni Cacciacarro, 52 took his final breath peacefully, surrounded by his wife and children at home after a brief and difficult battle with Bulbar onset ALS/FTD. Gianni lived a full and abundant life, filled with love and joy. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.

Gianni met his wife of 24 years at George Brown College where he studied construction engineering and also met his close friend Gaetano Alaimo from which the dreams of building their own construction company took form in 1997 under the name of Platinum Construction Corporation. A legacy that will live on under the reigns of his surviving partner and friend.

Despite his great success in his career, Gianni’s greatest achievement and deepest pride will always be his family. He worked hard to ensure his family had everything they needed and faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage.

Gianni was a devoted, loving and committed partner to his wife Sonia of 24 years. She was the pinnacle that drove his purpose of life and always stood by his side. They were best friends, lovers, partners in life and lived a love story that many could only dream of. The traditions and values they built as a couple ,and then as a family with their 3 children Alex, Andrea and Simona are the gifts of bonding and connection that will live through them in the years to come.

To his children, he was a true role model and will always be remembered for how important he made each of them feel and how much he fully invested in sharing in their aspiration whatever the adventure be. From drawing, to building, to learning how to swim and ski with his kids, he always took the plunge to do more with them. He always made time to be by their side.

To his extended family and friends, he was recognized for his sarcastic humour, patient presence and generous spirit. He was a warrior of the heart with an ability to bring light into any situation and would go to any length necessary to make others happy. That is what truly brought him joy.

Gianni will remain known for his authentic, selfless attitude with a deep appreciation and pride for his family. His life was abundant in so many ways, but his heart was simple and he lived every moment with no regrets.

Gianni was predeceased by his father Giovanni. He is survived by his wife Sonia, his 3 children Alex, Andrea, and Simona, his mother Maria, brother Carmine (Carolyn), brother Rocco, brother Bruno (Sandra), sister Antonella (Anthony), his father-in-law Adrian/mother-in-law Elia, sister-in-law Linda (Sebastiano), sister-in-law Patricia (Mauro), and his 15 nieces and nephews.

Rest in peace Gianni. Your legacy will forever live within and among us. We love you so much.

There are people who come into our lives and leave a footprint in our hearts and Gianni was that person. To know him is to love him as he was truly a good soul. Gianni and Sonia shared a love that so many dream to have and although their time together was cut short their love is everlasting. Their three beautiful children are a testament to that love and his teachings will live on in their lives with their future children. His footprint is tattooed in all the hearts of those who were blessed enough to know him. Gianni was a really great human, a funny, kind, loving, giving, and special man. Until we meet again my dear friend. Rest In Peace Gianni.
