Gwendolyn Smith

August 31, 1943 - July 14, 2025

SMITH, Hollie Harriett Gwendolyn (nee Little)
(1943-2025)

As the result of infection complications and an aneurysm, Gwendolyn passed away on Monday July 14 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Gwen is survived by her children Tyke (Jean) of Haliburton and Konnie Vandeburgt of Oshawa. She was Nana to Hayley, Emily, Alex, Holly, Mike, Ryker, and Carter. Greatgrandma to 10. She was predeceased by her husband Bertram (2023), her daughter Kimberly (2015), and her son in-law Greg Rowe (2014). Gwen was born in Haliburton on Aug 31,1943 to Holly and Beatrice Little of Blairhampton. She is survived by her sister Marlene Currie (Don deceased) of Stratford and her youngest brother Alex Little (Zetta) Also of Blairhampton. Predeceased by her siblings Ron, Joan, Darlene, Patricia, and Melville. Gwen found peace and enjoyment in her gardens, her home, and her church. She loved being a Nana, and Greatgrandma, her adoration for her grandchildren was immeasurable. Mom was sharp, witty, and unfaltering making her to be truly one of a kind. She also gained many lifelong friendships through her workplace of 30 years - Whitby Mental Health Hospital and also her place of worship, Whitby Free Methodist Church. She will be fondly remembered by all who were blessed to have known her.
