In memory of

George Winn

November 22, 1938 -  January 26, 2024

My father George Thomas Winn left this world on January 26, 2024 at the age of 85. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts. We would love you to come honor his life at the Simple Alternative Funeral Centre on March 2, 2024 @ 11am.

He was a magnetic force, people gravitated towards him, and he accepted and loved them all. He was compassionate, loving, caring, attentive, and hilarious. If you were around George, you were guaranteed to laugh because he had a great story for you.

George is survived by his daughter Simone, grandchildren Andru and Delicia, stepson Mark & his wife Marta, step-grandchildren Alex and Zoe; siblings Cora, David and Richard (Tommy) along with a number of nephews, nieces and many friends.
He is predeceased by his wife of 24 years Delphine; parents Frederick & Ethel; siblings, Lorraine, Ethel, Sylvia, Hilda and Fred.

Let us take a moment to reflect on the many ways George touched all our lives and the lessons we can learn from his time with us. May we find comfort in knowing that he will never truly be gone as long we keep his memory alive in our hearts and minds.
To my dad, we say farewell for now, but we will never forget the light he brought into our lives. May he Rest In Peace, and may we continue to honor his memory by living our lives to the fullest.

I will miss conversations about the Buffalo Bills and Sidney Poitier. You introduced me to a couple of Poitier’s movies and it was fun talking about them with you (Blackboard Jungle and To Sir With Love). You will be missed Uncle George. -Kimberly

Uncle George was an Uncle we would be excited to have visit us "across the border." He filled our lives with stories & amazing facts. His energy reflected love & care for all. He knew more about our Buffalo Bills than we did and we were so proud of this. We will miss our beloved Uncle George, I know the angels welcome his genuine heart of gold.

George

It's hard to say your final goodbyes to family members. George while you were
here we lived together a long time and shared many moments. While we went our separate ways to have our own lives and families we were still always in each others thoughts. We both married and had our children and purchased our homes. Growing old is not easy, my eyes may not be able to see you but my heart and memories I will always have. Rest now and know you will always be with family.

My deepest condolences Simone. Your father was a good friend and I knew he was always watching out for me and my family. I loved him very much and sorry I never told him so. I dearly miss him. I’m sure he is with your beautiful mother and they are looking out for you and family Xoxoxo
