It is with heavy hearts that we share news of the peaceful passing of George S. Spear, early on November 20, 2023, at the age of 93, surrounded by the love of his family.
A true Renaissance man, he embraced life with an unwavering spirit and an unyielding fervor.
His legacy is one of self-determination, a devoted husband to Marie Gisele Spear (1937 - 2022), Father of George Jr., Victor, Peter, and David (Maha), and loving grandfather to Theodore, Anneliese, Sarah, David, Andrew, Joseph, Jacob, and a cherished great-grandfather to Jack and Wilder.
In His memory, let us carry forward his tenacious zest and his dedication to family. His vibrant spirit will forever reside in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
A private family ceremony, honoring his life, will take place on Saturday, November 25th, offering a moment of intimate remembrance and reflection.
Additionally, a Celebration of Life, a testament to his impactful existence, will be scheduled early in the new year. Further details will follow, inviting all who knew and loved him to commemorate his remarkable journey.

George, Gisele and I were friends for over 50 years. I cherished the relationship I had with them both.
George was a unique individual, very learned, a true intellectual, much admired by those who knew him. He had a delightful sense of humour and was a wonderful cook, too, and we must not forget his prowess in playing tennis!
I remember many conversations with George on his front veranda and was fascinated to listen to his theories of life. What a delightful human being!
