In memory of

George Eliadis

July 8, 1965 -  July 15, 2017

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, brother, nephew and cousin George Eliadis. George was born in Toronto to immigrant parents (Charalambos and Panagiota) from Greece on July 8, 1965. George was a unique combination of being caring, stoic, strong willed and generous. Growing up he attended Victoria Park Secondary School where he met many of the life long friends he carried up to his death. From there he proceeded to York University where studied Geography, played varsity football where he wore #61 and was a three-year starter at Left Tackle for the Yeomen. From there he attended Humber College to pursue his true passion of paramedicine. He was hired to Toronto Emergency Services and quickly rose through the ranks and was a Level 3 medic in the busiest service in the nation. He loved education. He loved moulding new minds to the newest innovations and techniques in the discipline. He rose to the level of Deputy Commander where he oversaw a large swath of the city. Highly respected by all, he was a mentor, a friend, a confidante, an inspiration and an ear for anyone to talk to about issues both professional and personal.

Predeceased by his parents, he leaves behind daughter Alexandra, son Robert, step-daughter Abbey, grand daughter Chloe, niece and God daughter Paige, nephew Tony and brother Michael. At the time of his death he was with his true love Shari Williams enjoying their new found hobby of riding motorcycles together when a car struck them killing them. Selfless to the end, he directed OPP and EMS to tend to Shari as he felt he would cope. Upon return to him George had succumbed to his injuries. He will be missed greatly by his family, friends, the paramedic community and the City of Toronto's citizens of which he saved numerous lives in his 27 years of service.

Please join the family at Pine Hills Cemetery on Thursday July 20, 2017 from 17:00-21:00, and Friday July 21, 2017 10:00 12:30 for viewing. The funeral service and interment will follow the viewing on Friday.

One of the many things I will remember about George is how wherever he went, he created a family atmosphere. He took the time to ask about you and your family and always was there to be a support or to provide a much needed laugh. His family was the most important thing to him and I have been blessed that he made me feel part of that during our time working together. Many prayers to his family and friends.

Words cannot express how sad I was to hear that we lost you George. You were an amazing person and a heck of a Medic. I can't find the words to express what you meant to so many of us at TEMS. We love you and we already miss you so much. Xoxoxo
