George Edward Sellon
August 15, 1927 - June 8, 2015
George Edward Sellon (Aug 15, 1927 – June 8, 2015)
George passed away suddenly in his 88th year. He leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years Shirley (nee Auld), his sister Barb, his children and their spouses Dianne (Ron), Rick (Lisa), Lorrie (Steven) and grandchildren Scott (Lyndsay), Adam, Christopher, Katie, Jordan, Nicole and great grandsons Jaydyn and Jaxon. George spent 50 years working for Ontario Electrical Construction – a feat seldom seen these days - starting as an apprentice electrician when he was 16 and retiring as a Project Manager at 65. His proudest accomplishment was seeing the completion of the Roy Thomson Hall. He spent many early years with Shirley and kids on Shadow Lake in Norland. In 1985 Pop completed his 10 year ‘quest’ for the perfect cottage with the best view of Moore Lake, a wonderful family gathering place, highlighted with ‘happy hour’ on the pontoon boat. He will be remembered by family and friends as a kind, loyal, generous and gentle soul. Family and friends will be received at Mount Pleasant Cemetery Visitation Centre – 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, in the Red and White Room on Sunday June 14th. 12 – 2 pm. A celebration of life will be held at the ‘cottage’ this summer. If you wish to express your sympathies please consider a donation be made to the YMCA of Greater Toronto – Strong Kids Campaign. Donations can be made online at www.whydonate.org.
