George was a genuine family man who loved and was loved intensely. He passes away reluctantly in Toronto on May 1, 2012 but is now happily reunited with Donna, his adoring daughter. George leaves behind Dorothy, his loving wife of 63 years. He will be deeply missed by his large family: Pala (Al), Val (Mike), Steve (Pat), Patti (Dave), Jeff (Ann) as well as his many friends. His legacy will live on in his cherished 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Perfection was George’s passion and he displayed this throughout his life in a wide range of activities from fishing, hunting, sailing, camping, horseback riding, tennis, golfing, swimming, curling to travelling, hosting parties and dancing. He took great pride in his many building projects and creative hobbies such as photography and model railroading. “Papa Geo” was admired and will be remembered by all who knew him throughout his 84 years. George was a true gentleman-classy, intelligent and affectionate. A special thank you to the staff at Main Street Terrace for their outstanding care of George over the past two years. Family and friends will be received at the PINE HILLS CEMETERY & VISITATION CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave., 416-267-8229) for visitation on Monday, May 7, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Service in the Chapel on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Church of St. Bede.
