In memory of

George Allan Christie

February 11, 1945 -  October 11, 2023

Surrounded by family and friends in his final days, George peacefully left us on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023 at age 78. George suffered from Lewy Body Dementia for several years. Fortunately, near the end he was still aware of his loved ones and was able to communicate with a few words and his charming smile.

George is survived by his loving wife of nearly 24 years Diana, son Michael (Nadia), stepdaughter Erin (Scott), grandchildren Lauren, Caroline, Kathleen, Ella, Emily, Josephine, his brother John and niece Teya. He is predeceased by his parents Winifred and Norman.

First and foremost, George was very proud to be a pilot. He travelled the world working for Air Canada for 39+ years. George started his flying career as a second officer on the DC-8, eventually advancing to fly the DC-9, B727, A320, B747, and his favourite The Boeing 767. George was incredibly handy. He masterfully built and flew his pride and joy - C-FPFT, his very own amateur-built light aircraft. Murphy Rebel S/N #053 is now in the capable hands of fellow aviator Gavin Stewart, whom George adored. He was a kind hearted animal lover and had many dogs, and later in life, many cats with Diana. George loved living in the Beach neighbourhood of Toronto, cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays and vacations in St. Martin. George is now soaring above us, like he loved so much to do - Rest in peace Captain.

George's family wishes to thank his caregivers at True Davidson Acres, who provided tremendous care for him in his final years.

George will be interred at York Cemetery, 160 Beecroft Rd., Toronto with his parents. A celebration of life will be arranged for family and dear friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.

We were lucky to know George well in his prime. We enjoyed many fun get togethers and dinners with George and Diana over the years. Rest well George

My condolences to the entire family. I have lots of good memories with George. He coached my tball teams, alongside my dad. I can also recall numerous afternoons playing darts at the pub. He was always very supportive during the start of my aviation career.
He will be missed.

I was very sorry to hear of George's death. We attended Northview Heights together and shared many classes. He was well thought of by most and very popular with all the girls who thought he was the best looking guy in our school.
Rest in Peace George.
