In memory of

Geoffrey Bruce Schmidt

November 11, 1961 -  May 12, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geoff, age 63, a beloved friend, loyal companion, and remarkable individual whose intellect and humor brought joy to all who knew him.

Geoff was a true friend, always dependable and ready to lend a helping hand. His sharp wit and laughter brightened even the darkest days, making every gathering filled with warmth and joy.

Known for being the smartest person in the room, Geoff possessed a wealth of knowledge, and his insights were sought after and respected by many. He was a great conversationalist, able to engage anyone in meaningful discussions, and his caring nature showed in his genuine investment in his friends' well-being and success.

Geoff had a passion for the Dallas Cowboys, always cheering them on with unwavering loyalty. He loved spending time on the golf course, where he enjoyed the quiet challenges of the game, as well as watching baseball, which held a special place in his heart. Additionally, he relished the thrill of poker, blackjack, and sports handicapping and the stock market, embracing the strategy and challenge they provided.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Geoff on Friday, May 23rd, at [The Simple Alternative - Pickering, 1057 Brock Road].

Friends and family are welcomed to celebrate his life and share cherished memories. A burial is scheduled for November 11th, 2025 where we will lay him to rest in peace.

Geoff leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and wisdom that will forever remain in our hearts. He will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jeff Miller or The Go Fund Me Page to help cover the funeral and burial expenses. Any surplus monies will be Donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation on Geoff 's behalf to honour his dad Bob.

It is with great sadness that I learned of Geoff's passing from Greg Trent this week. Rick Black, Mike Curran, Greg Trent and I have fond memories of time spent together at Wilfrid Laurier University 1979 to 1983 while enduring the undergraduate business program to get our Honours BBA's. I am eternally grateful for Geoff in helping me get my first job at Canada Permanent Trust in 1985 and will always remember that kind gesture. We both loved cycling and each year discussed who was favoured to win the Tour De France. Geoff visited our Walker family cottage on several occasions and we challenged each other in nightly Trivial Pursuits. I am very sad that Geoff is no longer with us. Doug Walker
