Gail Arleen Crawford

March 10, 1941 -  September 14, 2019

Passed away suddenly but peacefully at home on Saturday, September 14, 2019 in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late James. Loving mother of Michael (Marjorie) and Richard. Proud grandmother of Shannon, Colleen, Matthew and Michael. Dear sister of Don Currie (Lynda). Cherished aunt of Jill and Tara (Larry Laskowski). She will be missed by her many other family members and friends. Gail retired from the Purchasing Department after a long career with the City of Oshawa where she had held many different positions over the years. She retired a second time after accepting a purchasing position with Ontario Power Generation. Gail was a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star – most recently the Whitby Chapter for over 50 years, a Daughter of the Nile – Oronto Temple and past Board Member for the Grandview Children’s Foundation. She also dedicated time to volunteering at the Whitby Seniors Centre. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. The Eastern Star Funeral Service will take place at 7 p.m. during the evening visitation at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11 a.m. with burial and reception to follow. In memory of Gail, donations can be made to the Grandview Children’s Foundation, Lakeridge Health Foundation or the charity of your choice.
