In memory of

林成恩先生 Frank Shing Yen Lum

August 30, 1932 -  May 30, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our dear dad Frank Shing Yen Lum on May 30, 2023, in Scarborough, Ontario at the age of 90.

Frank will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Susie Nu Luc Tran of 26 years, family and friends. Husband of the late Chai Yon Lum (1991), together they raised a family, ran a successful business and shared a wonderful life for 42 years.

Frank was born in Guang Dong, China. At the age of 20, he came to Canada to provide a better life for his family back in China. He worked mostly in the restaurant business and later owned two restaurants in Sudbury, Ontario, the Ho Wah Gardens Restaurant and the Sun Wah Restaurant. After 30 years in Sudbury, he moved to Toronto and continued working first at Captain John’s Restaurant as a cook and his last 9 working years was at the Toronto Parking Authority where he retired at the age of 65. In his retirement years he read his Chinese newspapers everyday, enjoyed going out for dim sum with Susie and her family and playing mah-jong.

Frank and Susie met in 1996 and were married soon after in 1997. For the next 10 years they enjoyed travelling and went on several cruises.

Frank was a stubborn but a well mannered, responsible, hard working family man. Traditional in many ways, punctual, sharp dresser and, of course, a great cook. He was a great dad and devoted husband. He will be dearly missed by Susie, family and friends.
