In memory of

Francis "Kuya" Veloira

November 26, 1956 -  February 3, 2025

With admiration and respect, we remember the fiercely independent and courageous spirit of our dear Kuya Francis.

Francis Peter Veloira unexpectedly passed away in his sleep on February 3, 2025 at his home in Toronto, Ontario.

Francis was born in the Philippines and migrated to Canada in 1975. He was the son of the late Eloisa and Felino Jr. Veloira.

He was "Kuya" to sister Fides and brother Marc. Uncle to nieces and nephews Laura; and Jacqueline, TJ, Toffer, Cida, Lyla, Leeroy and Katherine. He is predeceased by his sister Michelle, brother Thomas, and niece Veronica.

Francis was an inspirational role model to many. He earned his engineering degree at McMaster University. He was an avid chess player. Dedicated to his work, he excelled at his sales occupation. For over 17 years, Francis enjoyed working with his "other family" at the Home Depot Caledonia store.

Francis loved to celebrate and made tremendous effort to be with his family at every birthday and important occasions. He liked to cook and delighted in his culinary favourites.

He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered by his family, numerous friends, and his extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins in Canada, USA and the Philippines.

Francis' family would like to express their immense gratitude to the medical professionals and staff at Scarborough General Hospital Dialysis Clinic and Unit at Corporate Drive, and at Lawrence Avenue for their unique care and compassion for the past 12 years.
