In memory of

Fidel Mesina

April 24, 1934 -  May 5, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fidel Mesina on May 5th, 2021 after a valiant battle with prostate cancer.

Born in Caviti, Philippines on April 24th, 1934, Fidel was the third of eight children for Mauricio and Valentina. He spent many of his days outdoors, farming, fishing, and boat building.

After he met and married his wife, Naciansena, in 1953, they had eight children of their own. He was a quiet man but a loving and supportive husband and father. He always worked hard to provide for and support his family. When they immigrated to Canada in 1987, despite not speaking English, he found work to help build a life for himself and his family in a new country.

He was a reserved man, a quiet presence, but there was always a glint of humour in his eyes, a joke ready to share, and his smile and laughter could brighten a room. He is survived by his wife, seven children, nine grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly and dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Due to these difficult times and not being able to share in our grief together and reminisce with friends and family in person, we welcome all to share fond stories, memories and photos you have of Fidel on this memorial.
