In memory of

Fedor (Fred) Krizan

March 26, 1944 -  April 12, 2022

Fred passed away peacefully after a long illness at the Dorothy Ley Hospice April 12.

He left behind Raquel his loving wife of 30 wonderful years of marriage. Proud father to his children, Viktor (Karen), Andrew, Alexander (Daniela) and the light in his eyes, grandson Nathan. He will be missed by his mother in law Lidia.

Fred came to Canada in 1968 from the former Czechoslovakia. He retired from a long and successful career as a consulting engineer. He loved to travel and get to know different cultures around the world.

To quote a friend, and architect, "Fred was a successful, creative and passionate engineer. His clients and collaborators were always impressed with his reliable performance and design”

Fred was a good person, as his wife liked to say β€œa solid citizen”. He had a big heart and deep down was emotional even if he did not always show it.
He was fair and always put up a strong fight for a good cause.

In Memory of Fred and in lieu of flowers the family asked a donation be made to the Dorothy Ley Hospice.

Fred was one of many Czechoslovaks who immigrated to Canada in 1968, I am one of them too. As Paul Svastal used to tell me, Fred was a solid professional engineer and a devoted husband to Raquel and grandfather I had opportunity to meet on several occasions. He will be missed by the family and friends alike. I have enormous admiration for Raquel who stood by Fred to the last minute of his life.
My deepest sympathy to Raquel and Fred's children
Sincerely,
George Malina
