In memory of

Fausto Belluomini

March 17, 1937 -  April 19, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fausto Belluomini of Toronto, Canada. He immigrated to Canada from Florence, Italy in 1956 and was a loving son, husband, father, brother, Nonno and friend.

Fausto had a zest for life always finding levity in every situation and was an avid sports fan. He was dedicated to his career as a producer on CBC Sports, which earned him an induction into the CBC Sports Hall of Fame. He also worked on three World Cups and 11 Olympic Games.

Nothing brought Fausto more joy than his cherished granddaughter that he adored, Marielle Belluomini.

He is predeceased by his parents, Dominico Belluomini and Eugenia Volpi, loving wife Janet of 52 years, his son Roy and brother Tony (Marianne).

He is survived by his daughter-in-law Keili Belluomini-Rodrigues (grand-daughter Marielle), brother Mike (Anna), and many cherished friends like family.

For those who are unable to attend the funeral service it will be livestreamed for public viewing on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. (a link will be available on this memorial page at 1 p.m.). After which a recording will be uploaded to this memorial page under the 'Media' tab.

Condolence messages and memorial donations may be conveyed through this memorial page. Thank you for your understanding, kindness and support during this difficult time.

Fausto was a special person, no question. Loud, passionate, funny, caring, inquisitive, aggressive, thoughtful, did I say funny? All of the above. He will be missed and touched many people to the core. RIP Fausto.

My deepest sympathy to Fausto’s family. I worked with Fausto at the CBC. He always had a great sense of humour! A pleasure to work with.
May God bless him!

Fausto is a legend. It seemed EVERYBODY knew him or at least knew of him.
He had so many adventures and stories to share - and often he WAS the story.
A great character and CBC Hall of Famer who was always good to me.
Condolences to his family and friends.
Rest in peace, Fausto.
Sincerely,
Phil Dugas

My first time being aware of Fausto was in 1992 in Panorama. It was my first 'big show' with CBC Sports, and it didn't come much bigger than the World Cup Downhill. The tradition was to have a crew spaghetti dinner, for which I remember Fausto was the chief organizer and (I think) chef. Maybe it was his Mamma's recipe!
I am so sorry to hear of his passing, and I remember him for the his large and engaging personality. God Bless his family at this time.
