In memory of

Fausta Yambalia "Nanay" Tilles

November 2, 1928 -  January 14, 2022

It is with immense heartache and sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving mother who was known to all as “NANAY". A devoted mother to her children Aurora, Ason, Abe, Alice, Annie, and Aida with son-in-laws Austin, Mike, and Ramil, daughter-in-law Lyn. Blessed with beloved grandchildren of Lucky and Lori, Maben and Tessa, Gieham, Adrian, Alyssa, and Alex, followed with great grandchildren as LJ, Marsha, Amara, and Carmelo. Nanay’s love and wit was also shared to her extended families in the Philippines, USA and here in Canada.

Born in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on November 2, 1928. Courageously traveled to Canada in June of 1996 where she continued to build a strong foundation for her children and family. A woman of wisdom, positivity, vibrance, love and strength that resonates with each and everyone she interacts with. Her legacy will truly live on.

We may shed tears due to our loss or we may choose to smile because she has demonstrated the abundance of living.
We can close our eyes and pray that she may come back or we may seek an empty heart due to the idea of not being able to see her.
We can turn our back on tomorrow and live in the past or we may choose to move forward to make the most of what she has lived for.
We can remember her for the way she said goodbye or we can cherish her memories in light of her beautiful life.

Most importantly,
We can cry and close our minds or we can live in the way that she taught us.
TO SMILE, TO LOVE THOSE AROUND US, TO TRUST IN GOD, TO BE GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE BLESSINGS IN LIFE, AND BE STRONG.

Our family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Humber River Hospital for their care and compassion during these difficult times.
In lieu of flowers our family request and would greatly appreciate donations be made through to hrhfoundation.ca - in her memory.

Our deepest condolences on Nanay's passing. What a rich legacy she leaves behind in her accomplished children and grandchildren, and in the love of her great grandchildren. A brave woman, she uprooted her life to help her family find a new beginning. She was the center of every celebration and she continues to smile on you with pride. Our deepest sympathy on the passing of a remarkable woman.

Lived her life through hope, belief, and strength. This was proven true as her journey to recovery in January 2019 shows all that. After injuring her femur, Nanay underwent a major procedure - "Total Femur Nailing" surgery. Though doctors said it will take 2-3 months for recovery, Nanay managed to recover in just about a month to make it in time to see her grandson walk down the aisle.

As everyone knows, Nanay loved any home cook meals! Sometimes, if she's craving her favourite dessert, Bilo Bilo, she would help out in the kitchen! She would handroll the tapioca balls individually and enjoyed every second of it.

Nanay loved sticking to her routines. Her daily routine included: waking up, brushing her teeth, eat breakfast, exercise and watch some CP24, take a nap, wake up to watch GMA, and spend some time with her grandchildren! Trust me, she did this everyday and never liked to fall behind on her routine.
