Ernie was such a terrific man, loved by everyone that knew him. He took very good care of my sister for over 50 years. They made such a good team and he never minded being her silent partner letting her shine. I have many fond memories of vacationing in their beloved Mexico in the beautiful house they had the fortune to enjoy for over 20 years. Many weddings, christmas and thanksgiving dinners, birthday parties and family get togethers he was there for them all. A outdoors camping fishing kind of guy would of been happy living out in the wilderness with no neighbours to be seen. A father that helped raised two increadible children Kim and Darren that he was so proud of the kind smart loyal people you have become. Then came 3 not so little girls that had him wrapped around there little finger the moment they were born. Kylie, Makenzie and Lindsay he loved you more than words can ever say. Watching you grow up was a great amount of joy for him.
Ernie you will be missed more than you ever knew. Thank you for being such a big part of my life. You have joined the love of your life and I hope you are happy and at peace. I will miss you
Donna ❤️

It is unbelievable to think about how fast things can happen. My gankey was always my number one supporter, (even if i was wrong) he was someone i could always count on. I remember when i was a little girl, my favourite thing to do was go for rides to the dump with him in his red truck, and after to go get ice-cream sandwiches bigger than my head from the general store in Cheltenham! He always put everyone before himself, and did everything in his power to make myself and my sisters happy. Watching the way he treated my grandmother over the years was something i will never forget. Constantly bending over backwards to make her happy, and doing whatever it takes to get her what she needed, especially when she was sick; he stuck by her side through thick and thin. The love he had for her was endless. Thank you for being such a big part of my life. From an loving grandfather, to my best friend, you covered all of the bases. You will always have a piece of my heart. Give grandma a kiss for me, although i hate not having you here, It helps my heart knowing you two are reunited again. I will miss you now and always.

Love your grand-daughter,
Kylie. xoxo

Byron Kirkham (Friend)

Ernie and Patsy became my friends in 2005 when I moved to Mexico. They were "wintering" here.........snowbirds as they're referred to. We had instant chemistry and, to me, like family I wasn't related to. We could sit for hours talking about our children and grandchildren and I can assure you you were all loved so very deeply. Ernie loved being here mostly because of his love of being in the country and with animals. His favorite past time here was sitting in his chair in the garage, reading his book, with the neighborhood dogs gathered at his feet. They all loved him and knew they were always welcome. There's no doubt in my mind that your "Gank" is with your Grandma and all is right in the world. I know that you're all very sad but you will always have your wonderful memories and the knowledge you were his "joy".

We have been sharing the lovely Neely house at Lake Chapala, Mexico for 13 years. It is especially beautiful because of Patsy's decorating touch. Patsy and Ernie were wonderful people with very special sense of humor. They will be missed by all. We will continue to give their property lots of TLC and will stay until other plans are taking place regarding the house.

Sincerely,

Bob and Duane
