Ernie Chan, 80, of Toronto, passed away on Tuesday November 24, 2020.

He was born to parents Joe and Suey Yee, on November 7th, 1940, in Taishan, Guangdong, China. Ernie graduated from Central Technical School in Toronto. He was a cab driver, machinist, thoroughbred race horse owner and retired as machine shop supervisor.

He married Lily in 1967, who survives him. Ernie will also be fondly remembered by his children Philip (Lindy and grandchildren Meghan & Ethan), Edward (Fanny) and Rose (Bill).

Ernie was known for his love of a good time, an avid fan of the CFL with his beloved Argos, and the Toronto Blue Jays. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, T'ai Chi and golfer. He enjoyed a good shot of Johnnie Walker and a Romeo y Julieta No. 4. He could also be easily found at a slot machine nearby.

Ernie will be laid to rest on Saturday November 28th at Pine Hills Cemetery 625 Birchmount Road, Toronto, ON, Canada, M1K 1R1. Due to COVID-19 restrictions visitation will not be possible. Lot 20 Section 2846

So sorry to hear. Ernie was always a pleasant person to talk to. All my interactions with him were in my late teens, but he always spoke to me like an adult.
