It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Ermelinda (Emma) Fernandes on April 12, 2018 at Brampton Civic Hospital, aged 50 years.

Born in Mumbai, India to the late Custodio and Candolina Fernandes on May 31st, 1967. Married to her beloved husband, Philip Francis Fernandes for 30 wonderful years, they raised two strong and loving sons, Pierce and Ewans. Her other relatives include sister Succorin (Ronald) Saldanha, brother Gabriel (Valsa) Fernandes, late brother Milagre Fernandes and her sisters-in-law Elvira (Cajetan) Dias, Maria (Andrew) Fernandes and brother-in-law Vivian (Perpetua) Fernandes.

She will be fondly remembered by her friends and family for her warm and loving personality, which left a lasting impression on everyone that she interacted with.

Emma had a passion for travel. Alongside her husband and two boys, the entire family travelled to numerous countries around the world that include Australia, Thailand, Singapore, Tanzania, U.A.E., England, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Panama, Dominican Republic…to name a few! As well, she had the opportunity to check off her bucket-list her lifelong dream of going to Hawaii.

She loved hosting games and singing at parties. No special occasion was left unturned without her organizing games at family gatherings. She had a soft-spot for riddles and puzzles, while her favourite board game was Scrabble.
