Eric Lee passed away peacefully in Toronto on March 31, 2017 after a 13-year battle with late-stage cancer. He was admitted to Sunnybrook Hospital 2 weeks prior due to respiratory issues and fatigue. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and was provided with a course of antibiotics. His condition failed to improve due to his underlying lung tumours and he suffered seizures and required blood transfusions. Measures were taken to ensure that he was comfortable in those last days before he passed on while surrounded by family.

Eric was born in Hong Kong on December 27, 1946 to Chun Pui Lee and Mui Leung. He came to Toronto, Canada to marry his wife, Angela, in 1970. He earned a Masters Degree in Mathematics from York University and was a Systems Analyst and mainframe programmer for Air Canada for over 25 years. He loved nature, and wildlife, and going on cruises with his wife . He especially loved visiting his property in Hong Kong (Mui Wo) whenever his chemotherapy treatment schedule allowed.

Eric is survived by his faithful wife Angela of 46 years, son Ben (Audrey) Lee, daughter Francine (Justin) Cheung and the joy of his life, grandson Timothy Cheung. He is also survived by his brother Eddie (Alice) and nephew Gordon Lee, sister Eleanor Lee, brother Evans (Ivy) and nephew and niece Andrew and Amanda Li, brother-in-law Bernard and nephew Jonathan Cheung.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister Dorothy Cheung.

Eric was an inspiration to those around him. He had an unfailing faith and trust in God that he shared with everyone around him. He fought hard against the cancer that eventually took over his body.
