October 4, 1926 - December 9, 2017

Emily Eletia McGarrell Simon passed away on Saturday 9 of December 2017. She lived in Scarborough with her son Roland, daughter-in-law Deirdre and her dog Manchester. Emily is formerly of Company Road, Buxton, Guyana.

The passage of time never ceases to mystify the mind. Emily has lived a kind, loving and caring, self-sacrificing and productive life; she brought joy, hope and encouragement to the lives and hearts of many people for over 90 years. She was patient in her physical suffering; yet she never lost hope and faith in her Saviour, and Friend — Jesus.

She was wife to the late Randolph Churchill Simon for over 50 years; mother to son Roland and Treon, Trevor, Robin and Lorraine; sister to Roy; and aunt to Lorraine, Oliver, Earnsly, Fern, Faith Ann, Andre, Shelley, Holly, Nellis, Andrew, Colin, Godfrey, Lester, Selwyn, Laverne, Colleen, Neil, Christopher. She was also godmother, sister-in-law, cousin and friend to many other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings, Crossley, Edna and Dolly.

Emily will be laid to rest with Randolph on 15th of December.

With deep sympathy and love, Harvey and Deirdre! Our hearts grieve with yours at the passing of dear Mom and Sister--Emily. She now rests safely and sweetly in the arms of Jesus, as she awaits that great Resurrection Morning. Until then, be comforted as you continue your own lives' journey with that sustaining HOPE.

So sorry that I, Roy, cannot be there with you at this time because of weakened health having just recently undergone a serious heart surgery, but our prayers are with you now, and will continually be with you. God bless!

Aunt Emily , you will be missed! Now you are in a peaceful place. My dear brother Roland and sister Dee, you have truly been a blessing to dad and mom and I thank you with all my heart . Sorry I will not be able to attend the funeral. Please know you are always in my thoughts!! Love you!!

We are saddened at the passing of dear Emily. But we are grateful that she lived a long life, and that she committed her life to her Lord. So we have the "blessed hope" of the soon coming of our Lord, and look forward to the resurrection. Maranatha!
