December 19, 1956 -  June 12, 2021

Emily Yu-Mei Lim was born on Dec. 19th 1956 and passed away on June 12th 2021 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the age of 64.

Emily was born in Hong Kong, to the late Mr. Lai Yuk Kei and living Mrs. Lai Wong Ling Chun, and was the third child of five siblings. She graduated from the St. Paul’s Convent secondary school in Hong Kong. She immigrated to Canada in 1975. She graduated from University of Toronto School of Pharmacy in 1981.

In 1976, she met Dr. Bill York-Ball Lim and they married on May 24, 1980. Emily and Bill were married for 41 years.

Emily worked as a retail pharmacist for many years, and all the while raising two children, Hilda, and Jason, both of whom are active practicing physicians in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Emily is survived by her husband Bill, her two children Hilda and Jason, and her two loving grandchildren Kyla and Nicholas Tuling. She is also survived by her mother Lai Wong Ling Chun, her sister Julia Chan, and her brothers Yeung Lai, Allan Lai, and Tien Lai.

She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will forever be remembered.
