Ellen Rose Samlal (nee Corey) passed away peacefully in Toronto on February 11, 2021 at the age of 75. Ellen, born in Newport,Vermont because it had the closest hospital to her hometown Beebe, Quebec, is survived by her husband Kenrick, her children David, Tony, Maria and Stephen, grandchildren Madeleine, Stephanie, Briana, Quinn, Charlotte, Connor, and Finn and extended family members.
Ellen’s greatest love was her family. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. A kind and gentle soul, Ellen was always patient and always caring for others. She loved reading and kept a list of all the hundreds of books she read over the years. She spent many hours working on her family history and ancestry records, loved connecting with friends and family over social media and loved caring for the litter of rescue kitties, which she adopted without hesitation when they showed up at her door. Because her cats gave her unconditional love and enriched her life while holding a special place in her heart, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Toronto Humane Society in honour of her memory.

Ellen's untimely passing has affected us all very deeply. She was a quiet, intelligent, humble and loving human being. She always saw the good in people and never criticised or spoke unkindly of anyone. She was loved by us all and was my brother Ken's pilot in their life's journey. He relied on her heavily in all situations. May she rest in eternal peace and may her family stand united and comforted by the Divine
