In memory of

Ellen Klaas

September 4, 1928 -  October 7, 2017

KLAAS, Ellen (nee BRYDEN) September 4th, 1928 – October 7th, 2017

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Ellen, beloved wife of 60 years to her husband Jaan Klaas, and Mother to Peter (Robin) and Martha. Cherished grandmother to Devon, Koral, Madison, Adam, Alexus and Maia. Loving sister of Rhoda (Alex) and aunt to David and Allan. Ellen immigrated to Canada in 1954 where she soon after met the love of her life. Ellen’s family was always delighted to hear the many stories she shared of her life in Scotland with her sisters before starting her long life in Canada with Jaan. Predeceased by her parents Archibald and Martha Bryden and sister Betty. We take comfort in knowing Ellen was a woman of great faith and was looking forward to being reunited with her Mother and maker in afterlife. Ellen will be missed dearly by her family and friends, many from Wexford Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held at the York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd., Toronto (west of Yonge St., north of Sheppard Ave., 416-221-3404) on Friday, October 13th, 2017 from 1 – 1:45 p.m. until time of service at 1:45 p.m. Interment to follow at York Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wexford Presbyterian Church. For more information please visit www.etouch.ca

Our sincere sympathy to Jaan, Peter, Martha & families. Ellen was a fun loving lady, we enjoyed the few days they travelled North, for a family event, a number of years ago. May she rest in peace with her Lord & Saviour.

I am SO Sorry, I saw the Thursday Star obit tonight at dinner, and I could have been present at the York Funeral Centre (been there before) earlier this afternoon, although I had just finished an EARLY morning shift).
Although I've been away from the congregation for over 15 years, I have great memories of the Klass family. To Jaan, Peter, Martha and your families, my prayers and hugs to all of you. Ellen is free from her pain with her Saviour.
Blessings!
