McNeill, Elizabeth Mary (nee Arsenault) passed peacefully in her sleep on October 16, 2018 after a short and courageous battle with Cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband Raymond, to whom she was married to for 59 years. She leaves behind 5 children Patricia; Sherry; Brian; Janet & her husband Dan; and Carol & her husband Keith. She was adored by her 7 grandchildren, Stephanie and her husband Luke; Brittany and her husband Adam; Gillian; Christian; Connor; Marissa and Richard.
She was born on August 14, 1933 in Roxbury, Lot 6, Prince Edward Island to the late Frank and Josephine Arsenault. She was predeceased by her brothers Kenneth, Vincent, Elmer and sister Susan. She will be missed by her surviving siblings Agno; Eric & his wife Paula, Marjorie; and Paula & her husband Alton, Ray’s family and all her nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She loved and treasured all of her many friends. She will be greatly missed by her best friend Yvonne, her daughter Karen and her dear friend Myra who she spent so much time with over the years.
She moved to Toronto in 1958 to marry the love of her life and raise her family. She had a great love for children. She provided private daycare in her home for many years bestowing her love on many kids who remained in her life and heart until her passing. She devoted time each week to the children in the community being active in the 16th Brownie Pack for over 20 years. She retired from Troop as the Brown Owl.
She had a love of adventure, camping, travel, playing cards and shenanigans. She found pleasure in the simplest things. She demonstrated love and kindness to all she met.
It was Liz’s expressed wish that there be no visitation before her funeral mass which will take place at St. John Chrysostom Church on October 29, 2018 at 10 am. The church is located at 432 Ontario Street, Newmarket, Ontario, L3Y 2K4. The family will host a reception in the Parish hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or the Southlake Regional Health Center- Stronach Cancer Center.
