April 16, 1930 – August 9, 2020.

It is with great sadness, the family of Elizabeth “Beth” McLaren announces her peaceful passing at Mackenzie Health Centre, Richmond Hill, Ontario on Sunday August 9, 2020, at the age of 90 years.

A graduate of the Salvation Army’s Toronto Grace Hospital School of Nursing in 1954, Beth worked as a maternity nurse until her retirement.

A loving spouse, step-mother, grandmother “Grannie” and great-grandmother “Grandie”, Beth will be greatly missed by step-sons Bruce and Murray; daughters-in-law, Dawn Marie and Glenis; grandchildren, David (Jennifer), Stuart (Katherine), Maureen (Neil), Colin, Iain and Kaeli; great-grandchildren, Korrissa, Liam, Majken, Keagan, and Rory Jean; as well as her many nieces and nephews.

Beth was predeceased by her parents, John and Rita (Miller) Hanson; her husband of 48 years Donald (“Don”); sisters Helen Ruddy, Wilma Rochester, and Jean Dunand.; and brother, Albert (“Bert”)

Cremation has taken place and a private family Celebration of Life will be held at York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, North York, ON. Friday, August 21, 2020 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Interment will take place immediately following at York Cemetery, North York.
