A beautiful legacy - your family
My mother Elizabeth Denny was an extraordinary woman.
She inspired, mentored and encouraged me in so many ways.
I valued the lifelong lessons that she shared and taught me.
Nothing was too big of a challenge for her and as a woman in her late 80’s, she joined Facebook, played games, sent emails and became very computer savvy!
She had a big heart for animals and she would have made a great veterinarian.
I remember when she adopted a wild 3 legged cat in her neighbourhood that was neglected and starving.
The cat was unable to catch anything and the poor animal was slowly deteriorating.
After coercing the cat up the driveway with food, she soon had its trust.
The stray neglected cat was taken to the vet, nurtured, fed, and brought back to its healthy self!
This contented and healthy rarely left her side and became another great pet for my mother.
Helping animals always put a big smile on my mother’s face!
I miss her terribly but God is good!
He has a plan to reunite us again. Mom, til we meet again!
You’re in my heart forever!
Shirley, your daughter .
I can’t believe Mom is gone. She lived a long life to the age of 90 and passed away peacefully. I was very close to my Mom while my younger sister, Shirley was close to her Dad. We know both of our parents loved us equally. My wonderful memories with her was for over 70 years but it is so sad to know we won’t see her again here. One time, when I was a kid, I played Bingo with her. She helped me by pointing the Bingo numbers quickly, I almost missed several times. She was an amazing Bingo player ! She also enjoyed watching game shows on TV, using her computer to play general Facebook games and emailing everyone. When I was about two years old, I sailed with my parents to England and visited Mom’s family and relatives. I met Mom’s favorite cousin named Alf Bicknell in Liverpool, who was a chauffeur/manager/author for the Beatles. Mom, I love you so much and I will miss you every day ! When I walk around my garden or water the flowers, I think of you, Mom. You will be missed greatly but we know you are in the arms of God. Until we meet again, Mom.
Grandma- we had a very close and special bond that will never be forgotten, that no one else would ever understand. I am sitting in my backyard as I write this- a place where we celebrated your birthday for several years in a row. So many great memories. You are so loved, grandma. Your sense of humour, your smile, your kindness, your loving nature towards animals and people. No doubt you have a very special place in heaven, dancing along with all of the dogs and cats that you so loved and cared for! We will meet again, grandma. That is for sure. I love you so very much, and always will. xoxoxoxo Love, Jackie.
